As you can see on the chart, at this point in the season there are a lot of big names that appear at the top. Despite a huge disappointment last week, Denny Hamlin remains a top tier selection. Over the course of the last six events, he has an average finish of 7th. That includes four top 5s in a row and the victory at Martinsville. He led an astounding 381 laps at Richmond before smacking the wall and going home 24th. Look for him to come out with a vengeance and rebound in a big way.

Hendrick Motorsports' Casey Mears led the third Sprint Cup Series practice for tomorrow's Dodge Challenger 500 at Darlington Raceway. Mears recorded a fastest lap of 177.685 mph in his No. 5 Chevrolet. He was followed by second-fastest Martin Truex Jr. at 176.759 mph in his No. 1 Dale Earnhardt Inc. Chevrolet. (SceneDaily.com)
