And so we come to the end of Billy Beane week here in the Sports Buff baseball universe. One may question whether Mr. Beane is really worth celebrating as his teams have only reached the Playoffs in one of the past five seasons and the A’s are currently in last place in the NL West. Americans like winners, but I think even most Americans can appreciate that Beane has done as much as he could with the deck stacked against him.
